SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER

 

The primary duty of the School Resource Officer within the school system include acting as truant officer, riding or following buses to ensure safety, monitoring the school grounds and assisting school crossing guards, as well as establishing and assisting in school lockdown procedures and drills.

 

He also assists students, teachers, and staff with issues involving bullying and threats, family issues that may effect a child’s school life, and act as liaisons between the Tisbury Elementary School and the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
